#14 - DYV
1977 Series 3
-
Wilf — as he would come to be known — arrived at Windsor Classics as a rather beaten-up 1979 left hand drive Series III 88" with a 2.25 petrol engine, sourced from a dealer in Minehead with no known history to his name. What he lacked in provenance he made up for in promise, and when Mark Arnold commissioned Windsor Classics to transform him, the journey that followed would prove to be one of the most rewarding of all.
-
Mark's vision was sun-soaked and joyful — a roof-off daily driver for his family home in Lisbon. Wilf was to be the vehicle that carried the family to the beach, top down, children in the back, the Atlantic breeze doing the rest. He needed to be mechanically faultless, effortless to drive, and built to embrace the Portuguese sunshine. Left hand drive was essential for life on the continent, and the brief called for a vehicle that was every bit as happy on a coastal road as a cobbled Lisbon backstreet.
