JTC rolled off the production line in June 1975, a D suffix Range Rover in the first flush of what would become one of the most revered chapters in British motoring history. Delivered to her first owners through Henlys of Bristol, JTC enjoyed a gentle early life — changing hands at just 32,000 miles in August 1981 and again in December 1983. Her third custodian would prove the most devoted, keeping her for the next thirty-five years as the faithful family companion, dutifully towing the caravan twice a year down to Cornwall and back. It is a life story that speaks quietly of reliability, loyalty, and the deep affection these early Range Rovers inspire in those who own them.

Windsor Classics MD Richard Heighes acquired JTC at auction in 2018 — and recognised immediately what she deserved.

Quite simply, to restore JTC to her former glory. No reimagining, no modernisation — a scrupulous, concours-level restoration that would honour every detail of her original specification and return her to a condition that would surpass even the day she first left the factory in 1975.

All works undertaken to concours level and period correct throughout:

• Chassis stripped, soda blasted, repainted and Waxoyled

• All original bodywork stripped, soda blasted and refinished in two-pack PU paint with clear coat lacquer

• Wheels shot blasted, repainted and fitted with period correct Michelin X M+S tyres

• 3.5 litre V8 engine & gearbox stripped and rebuilt using all original parts

• Starter motor and alternator completely rebuilt

• New brake lines, flexi-lines, discs, calipers and pads all round

• Radiator refurbished

• New original-style stainless steel exhaust

• Axles, differentials and suspension stripped and rebuilt including new shock absorbers

• New fuel tank, fuel lines and sender unit

• Wiring harness refurbished

• New rubber seals throughout

• Interior stripped and refurbished using the same specialists employed by JLR for their 'Reborn' series

• New Lucas period headlights with uprated halogen bulbs

• Original door hinges fully refurbished with new bushes and pins
